I couldn't be more thrilled to do my first "new" newborn session. This beauty was only 4 days old, and was absolutely precious. She was very cooperative, and the new mom and dad couldn't have been more helpful and cool as a cucumber, considering this is their first child! We had a bit of a lighting issue. Shooting indoors is tough when its overcast out, but I think we got some shots! Hope you enjoy this sneak peek and I look forward to some outdoor sessions as the sweet pea gets older!
C Family
Spring has Sprung!!!! I went back to the location that I did some of C's pictures at this past week, and also did some in one of my other favorite spots in my neighborhood. This family drove all the way from Sumter, and I thank them for giving me the opportunity to shoot some pictures before the daddy leaves for Iraq. Hope mom and dad enjoy this sneak peek.
Spontaneity,...not usually our thing
Life has been crazy lately, and much of the time a drag. For anyone that doesn't know by now, my husband and I are getting a divorce. God, its even hard to write it. Obviously C is the first and only thing on my mind (as if that differs from any other day). But lately, I have had to also focus on keeping myself together.
If anyone saw the Today show segment about Anne Curry's photography passion, you may have heard her friend say, "[photography] is almost therapeutic, because it forces you to pay attention to everything else outside of yourself. This is why I love it so much! Its a great escape from day to day trials and tribulations...forces you to slow down, and stops time just for that one hundredth of a second. There is nothing better. That moment in time preserved forever!!
Today, I decided to seize the moment (a rare opportunity for someone that plans most of their life down to the minute!) A couple of freight cars are periodically "parked" on a track right by our house. They are there one minute, maybe gone the next for weeks. On our way home from C's school. We saw them. I had been dying to take her picture with the train (think grungy vintage)
So we rushed home, got the best Little House on the Prairie type outfit we could find and we were off. We hoofed it down the tracks to the train. Got a couple of great shots. In the distance we saw this orchard of cherry trees which recently (along with every other tree in Columbia) bloomed! It was a sea of pink. C wanted to take her picture with the trees, so we climbed up the embankment to the trees! Not too long after I began shooting, we got ask to leave by groundskeepers saying it was a "experimental orchard" . Right. Its a bunch of trees and we are taking pictures pal. Anyway, I had to rush up and get out of there. But I think we got the idea. Will definitely want to sneak back in for some more pics and hopefully some client sessions before the blossoms are gone!! Here is some of our fun!
My New Military Flyer
Ever since doing little J's pictures for her parents, who are deployed in Afghanistan, I have been really inspired to do more military sessions! Here is my new ad that hopefully be distributed on post, and maybe some local newspapers as well!
My New Photo Hobby!
Most of you know I love making digital cards from scratch (Christmas cards, C's birthday invitation, etc.) But here is a new creation! My first love, Margo! Made this totally from scratch. Would love any suggestions on how I can incorporate this into my business? I think this would be something great that have for many occasions.
