H Family- Take 1

So, I should have known it was a bad omen when I went to retrieve something from the car and the door slammed back and took my knee out. But hey, positive thinking right? Wrong. The park was infested with creepy crawlies, and poor little guy got a nasty red ant bite. After the pretty sisters were done, we were ready to turn our attention to the kids and it was getting too dark, past bedtimes, and meltdowns ensued.

So, sometimes conditions call for "take two". This one definitely does! Here are a couple of pictures for a sneak preview. I will put all of "take one" in the gallery on my website in the next few days. I have a great feeling about "take two"!

Mr. Nicholas

It was great to take some shots of this readheaded handsome man and his parents. Mom and I organize a playgroup in NE Columbia, and Nicholas is one of my daughter, Campbell's "oldest" friends. ;-) I was armed with new equipment, which was wonderful, but extremely heavy and has a bit of a learning curve attached. We had a few obstacles... a tired boy and insane humidity which lead to a foggy lens! But all in all it was a fun shoot. Wow, I am not used to boys! :-) Here are a couple of my favorite shots!

Hello, Lover

So, yesterday I channeled SJP in Sex in the City, in the scene where she, and Samantha are gazing and drooling over the Manolo Blahniks in the storefront window, and SJP says, "Hellllllooooo, Lover." Sure, this used to get my going. High Fashion footwear, and it still does, but these days its photography!!

As you might imagine, I was quite irritated when I was asked to stay home all day yesterday to wait on a box to arrive for Gus' client, while he was out on the links! But when the box arrived, its contents sent me to the floor, and I got the shakes.

He had suprised me with a new DSLR! The Canon 50D! and as if that wasnt enough, a new zoom lens to go with it! Canon Ultrasonic IS 70-200 L Series f/2.8 ! If this jargon isnt getting you excited, Women.....think designer shoes.....Men.......think tool aisle at Home Depot. I can't contain my excitement.

I am so looking forward to using this beauty tonight at my session with N! Hopefully the weather holds out!

HELLLLLLOOOOO LOOOOOOOOVER

Reed Family- First Family Session

So excited to post a few photos of my first family session! It was tons of fun to shoot this beautiful family, and the tattoos I bought at Target kept the boys interested and gave us some leverage! After hours upon hours of editing (I think I have developed Carpal Tunnel (aka "Clickitis"), here is a sneak peek of some images!
